This small book of poems is a "pirate" copy of the author's first book of poems. It is somewhat controversial. For as the introduction states; it includes the poem "Arraignment", which accuses Ted Hughes of murdering his wife Sylvia Plath, which then had Ted Hughes suing Robin Morgan. Through a series of meetings a "compromise" was reached where Robin Morgan rewrote the poem in much more general terms, and was known as "Arraignment II". At the time of this book's publication (probably 1970s though no date is given) the only way to get Robin Morgan's poems was within this pirated format. Included in this small book of poems are the two versions of the controversial poem. Size: 16mo (very small). (6), 3-85, (1) pages, Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Illustrated. Item Description: Melbourne Radical Feminists, [1972?], [Melbourne], 1972. Soft cover. Book Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. [86]p. First Edition thus. Blue illustrated stapled wrappers. The controversial work was first published by Random House in America in 1972. The publishers had feared legal action from Ted Hughes because of the content of one of the poems entitled "Arraignment" in which the radical feminist author accused Ted Hughes of "murdering" Sylvia Plath. Morgan eventually agreed to rewrite the poem and Random House proceeded with the work. Hughes agreed not to sue as long as publication was restricted to the United States. Editions already printed for Random House, Canada were dumped. This pirated edition was published by a group of Australian radical feminists and includes 'Arraignment I' (the version which appeared in the U.S. publication) and on pages 78, 78A and 78B 'Arraignment II" (the poem as originally written and which Random House refused to publish. The booklet is in very good condition apart from some darkening around the spine area. Bookseller Inventory # 6414
