This book is autobiographical as Tuttle goes back to his early days in Montana for most of the stories. Tuttle was born in a snowstorm above a county jail where his father was sheriff. He was also a screen writer in Hollywood. The book deals with duck hunting trips, deer stalking, searching for gold, days as relief ranger for the government, etc. Tuttle grew up with first hand experiences of the old west.
