Set published 1931-1934. An expert on Islamic architecture, Albert Gabriel came to Turkey in 1926. First edition of the lavishly illustrated publication splendor. - Albert Gabriel was a professor at the Universities of Strasbourg and Istanbul, in 1930, he became the first director of the Institut français d'archéologie in Istanbul, preparing this and similar reports for the protection of historic buildings. His richly illustrated documentation of historical monuments in Anatolia describes monuments in Kayseri-Nigde, Amasya, Tokat and Sivas.
