About this Item: Washington's Manual Labor School and Male Orphan Asylum, Washington D.C., 1841. Decorative Leather. Condition: Good. "Published by the Trustees of Washington's Manual Labour School and Male Orphan Asylym, for the benefit of that institution." Folio, 13 3/4" tall, [16]+ [6] + 104 pages + seven steel plate engravings; brown leather, with gilt titles, decorations and fore-edges. Previous owner's small bookplates on front and rear endpapers. A good copy overall with moderate shelf wear and rubbing to the exterior leather, fore-corne tips worn through to boards, back trip leather chipped at the top and bottom edges and rubbed at the hinges with several side to side fractures. Interior is very good, internal hinges and binding solid, paper cream white with light sporadic foxing. Includes a two-sided facsimile sheet of 'Continental Currency'.
