Book has no creased page corners, barest hint of dust soiling to outer page edges which are still white (no age darkening/foxing), no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps/stickers inside, clean endpapers with no scotch tape marks or erasures, no internal hinge splitting, no wear to board edges, corners or spine tips, no bumped board corners, no soiling/markings to boards, no wear/oxidizing to gilt spine lettering. Dust Jacket has no chipping, tearing or creasing, virtually no wear to spine tips, no wear to front flap crease, no wear to left/right on spine, no edge wear, no spine sun darkening, no foxing to panels or spine, no dust rubbing to panels or spine, no soiling/staining to panels or spine. BOOK AND DUST JACKET LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PRINTED YESTERDAY. Overall a N-FINE book in N-FINE condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of a Ian Fleming related James Bond 1st UK printing hardcover book. About this Item: London: Jonathan Cape. 1955, 1955. FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, BINDING B (Linson material). Publisher's black cloth, titled in silver, without jacket. This version is in the Linson cloth, which has a higher sheen and closer pattern/texture and is both described and illustrated on page 8 of the bibliography. Binding B also "appears to be fractionally shorter" (Gilbert, p.97). Such bindings seem to be less common in commerce. The text block features the correct spelling of 'shoot' on page 10. The edges are rather foxed and the flyleaves have some offset browning, but the cloth boards are close to fine with a minor lean but no bumping or marking. An uncommon and previously unrecorded variant, housed in a protective leather-spined clamshell box. A3a (1.3). Seller Inventory # 39811
