About this Item: Washington, D.C.: United States Census Printing Office. Condition: Used - Like New. 1893. Quarto, 136 pp. illustrated throuhgout with plates, including maps and 3 color lithographs. Rebound in green cloth with original wraps preserved internally. Red leather spine label. There is some water staining on the exterior of some of the plates, which do not effect the images, but are visible in the margins. Some of the plates (not the lithographs nor the maps) have some tearing with repairs done in tape; rear hinge cracked; wear to extremities of cloth with corners bumped; rear board has a large crease; spine lable scuffed. About this Item: Washington. Department of the Interior, Census Office. 1893-1894., 1894. 4to, 28.5cm, 136,vii,24, vii,70pp., frontis & 124 plates (4 colour), 4 folding maps, indexes, "The Moqui Pueblos of Arizona" is missing 8 pages (pp.57-64; apparently as issued), disbound without the original fragile printed wraps and free flies, first few leaves chipped along the fore-edge otherwise internally very good (ds1). - Part of the extensive Eleventh Census of the United States carried out in 1890. An attempt was being made "to make an enumeration of all Indians living within the jurisdiction of the United States, with such information as to their condition as may be obtainable, classifying them as to Indians taxed and Indians not taxed." (Secretary of the Interior). The Reports were prepared by Thomas Donaldson, special agent to the Census Office. Book. Seller Inventory # 27430
