Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Reprint Edition. A Fair copy in worn full brown leather, with scuffing to the spine, and the cover hinges tender but holding. The text block binding is sound, and there are no prior owner's marks in the text. Heavy foxing to the endpapers, lighter foxing within. A reading/reference copy of this 1831 two-volumes-in-one edition (182 and 194 pages). A 41-page "Questions Adapted to Paley's Moral and Political Philosophy" with a separate 1831 title page is bound in at the rear. It has pencil markings and some edge-tears, but no paper loss. Book.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Seventeenth edition. Volume II ONLY. This volume bound in full tan calf-skin with gilt devices on spine and around edges of boards. Lettering and parts of decoration has been rubbed/chipped from spine. Corners open. Hinges cracked. Boards are worn but leather is clean and glossy. This volume contains a bookplate of George Savill, with Savill family crest and "Be Fast" motto. No writing in the book. Pages bright but have occasional foxing. Full refund if not satisfied.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Volumes one and two of 1814 edition of the clergyman philosopher's views and not printed new when ordered by customer. He writes on suicide, drunkenness, justice, sabbatical institutions, forms of government, moral obligation, virtue happiness etc etc. But what does he say about flogging, transportation, the 18th Bloody Code of capital offences for trivial breaches of the law; inequality; a rigged electoral system and political representation for the poor? Vol. 1 373 pages; Vol. 2, 436 pages. Boards and spine and binding good for 1814 book. Very minor tanning and foxing. On Vol. 1, red and gold paper label with 'Paley's Philosophy' partly missing. Quoted postage for UK 2nd class. Overseas at least £14.30 as over one kilo weight for combined volumes.

Leather. Condition: G. 13th Edition. Stated thirteenth London edition. Two volume set bound in full leather with gold decorations to the spine. 5 1/4" x 8 1/2", 371 and 444 page s. A Good set. Heavy rubbing to the books' corners and spine tips. Vol ume I has a 31" chip to the leather at the upper right corner. Small, shallow chips at the spine tips. Volume II has tiny chips to the botto m right corner and base of the spine. The marbled endpapers may be rep lacements, as both have the first fly leafs glued to the versso of the second fly leafs. Names inked on the Table of Contents pages. Hinges reasonably tight, some mild scattered foxing through out.
