Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Blue linen-like cloth on boards with stamped and bright gilt lettering to spine. Book is tight and square, despite size (556 pp, 8.5" x 12") and particularly sharp-cornered. Totally free of any markings or flaws inside and out. Book is Fine or better. Unclipped Dust Jacket has a price sticker of $101 but unsure if that was a prior bookseller. Pictorial DJ has full page color photo on back, 8 smaller photos on front. Some very minor scuffing to bottom of spine, otherwise DJ would be fine. Near Fine as is. Stated as the Revised Edition, with 296 new illustrations, including 182 in color, with a foreword by W.W. Winkworth. This is based on the world-class collection of Mark T. Hindson, who started collecting in the 1940's. His collection was auctioned by Sotheby's in two auctions of 1967 and 1969. Filled with photographs and divided by different schools of Netsuke artists, the book is the standard to this day. The rear of the book contains indexes, lists of known artists, original auction selling prices for the pieces, and other bibliographic data.
