Signed by Chief Mountain/Samuel Henry Middleton (1884-1964), the former Anglican Archdeacon of Lethbridge, inscribing both his native and his given name. Middleton, following his ordination in 1911, was posted to the Kainai Tribe reserve Blood 148, where he also served as the principal of St. Paul's School. He was appointed as the bishop's chaplain for Indian work in 1916 and was made Canon of Calgary Cathedral in 1924.
