The translation is credited to L. and G. Faure.

Variants have been noted (see Bradford Morrow's Steinbeck catalogue) which bear the date 1954 - whether this represents a different edition or later issue is unclear. Steinbeck's article had appeared in Harper's Bazaar for May 1953, and the Italian translation preceded the English version. This dust jacket is unrecorded.
