This is a beautiful stated Sixteenth Printing of Post Office by Bukowski, published by Black Sparrow Press, apparently in 1984. In Fine Condition with original Fine acetate dustjacket. Original paste downs on the spine are present. A beautiful example and very rare in hardback with DJ. New hardback printings of this book sell for $100-150 while this is a vintage and rare example of likely Bukowski's best known book. In Very Good condition, in dust jacket with the price intact. Previous owner name and date in pen to title page and verso of front free end paper. Crease to page 17. Light wear to spine ends. The dust jacket shows rubbing, a tiny stain at the bottom left corner of the front panel, faint edge wear, and two tears; a two-inch long tear at the top of the rear flap, and a one-inch long tear at the top of the front flap fold. Publisher clear glassine dj present and in very good condition, with only light rubbing. Illustrated cloth boards. I I would call this VG but for the foxing. Some light foxing to boards, mainly the edges, and also faintly to the top page edge. Minor art shadow to the second endpaper, along the edges. The binding is firm and boxed. Aside from the autograph and limitation, no other markings. A nice copy suitable as a gift or addition to a collection. Sharp copy of Bukowski's first novel, an autobiographical work based on his years spent as a postal clerk and mail carrier in Los Angeles. He left his job there when publisher John Martin offered him $100 a week for life if he wrote for his fledgling Black Sparrow Press.
