About this Item: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York, 1973. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1973. NY. 308 Pages. VG+/VG+. 1st edition, 1st printing. Copyright page states First Edition with BCDE. The original DJ has the $7.95 price clipped from DJ flap. The book is square, tight and unread. Corners are sharp. Panels are bright gray and clean. The only flaw keeping this book from grading fine is foxing to page edges. Some of the spots show on the rear DJ flap edge (barely). The DJ is most attractive. DJ is bright. Only minimal rubbing to edges keeping this DJ from grading near fine. Backstrip shows the tiniest roll at DJ edge that looks like a tiny chip but it is not, rather the paper is just slightly rolled and could be re-flattened if so desired. Faint crease to lower left front of the DJ. Condition flaws are hyper-critical and overstated. A paper conservator could likely neutralize the foxing on the page edges and by ridding these, you would have a fine book in a VG+ DJ. A most desirable copy of the classic. Seller Inventory # 000813

About this Item: Macmillan London Limited, London, 1975. First U.K. Edition. First Impression. Octavo (cm); pale grey cloth, with titles stamped in black and red on spine; dustjacket; [vi],308,[4]pp. Signed by director Rob Reiner on the half-title page. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced £3.95 net), showing light wear along upper edge, a tiny tear at upper front joint, and a discreet razor cut at lower spine panel, both tape-mended on verso; Very Good+. "An affectionate parody of fairy tales, swashbuckling yarns and traditional fantasy clichés framed as a story within a story. Always knowing and full of intended anachronisms, this Ruritanian romance works equally well for adults and children." (Barron, Fantasy Literature, 4A-117). A beloved book, and basis for Rob Reiner's Oscar-nominated 1987 film staring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, and Mandy Patinkin. While we've seen a number of copies signed or inscribed by Goldman, this is one of the few we've seen signed by one of the principal figures associated with the film. Seller Inventory # 4375
