About this Item: N.Y. / New York: Ballantine Books, 1974, 1st Paperback Edition, First Printing, New York, NY, 1974. Soft Cover. Condition: Good (see description). Ted Coconis Cover Art (illustrator). First Edition. -----------paperback, a solid Fair to Good copy, external wear with some creases on the spine and covers, edge wear, faint creases, a bit of age toning to the paper and verso of the covers, tape repairs to the edges of the front cover, small nicks at spine tips, --- attractive cover art by Ted Coconis -a unique cover illustration that IMHO does not really have much bearing on the story ---well, I certainly don't remember Princess Buttercup being nude with an eagle on her head as she is surrounded by snakes and ghouls and other beings ---still a nice edition ---, this paperback edition (like the 1st hardcover edition) has the text in black and red with the red sections being Goldman's interjections and "edits" ---- I betcha this is a kissing book ( wuv, twoo wuv ---maywidge is what bwings us together todaaaaaay ), includes Goldman's original 1973 introduction ---if you haven't seen the movie (well, first of all -SHAME ON YOU! ) of The PRINCESS BRIDE starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon and Mandy Patinkin ( My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die! ) is a super movie that is incredibly funny and honours the book oh so well, read the book ---you won't be disappointed, an uncommon edition, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo. About this Item: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York, 1973. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. New York. 1973. 308 pages. This book is identical to the 1st edition, 1st printing except that it lacks the First Edition Statement with B C D E on the copyright page. Gray cloth boards with Red and Black titles to the spine. Mustard endpapers. Red and black printed type throughout the text just like the 1st printing. 308 pages, same as 1st printing. Pages are tight, crisp and white, seemingly unread. Grey cloth boards are clean and bright. Book is square. Corners are sharp. Only flaw keeping the book from grading fine is foxing to top page edges and a gentle bump to 1 corner (barely). The DJ is not as nice as the book. DJ is exactly the same as the 1st printing except there is no printed price on the upper flap corner. Any 1st issue DJ that is price clipped would be indistinguishable from this DJ should this DJ have the inside flap corner clipped. Point is, this jacket is identical to the 1st printing except this flap is plain red where the $7.95 price would be on a 1st printing DJ. DJ shows rubbing along edges and folds with a couple of tiny chips/wrinkles. Dust Jacket design by Wendell Minor. This is a very nice crisp copy aside from foxing to top. Book is identical to the first printing aside from lacking the first edition statement and a small blind maple leaf impression on rear board corner. DJ matches the 1st issue DJ except for a plain flap vs. the $7.95 price on the flap. Seller Inventory # 001294

About this Item: Macmillan, London, 1975. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First UK Edition. First Impression. 8vo., 15 x 25cm, 308pp. Original grey cloth boards with titles in red and black to the spine. Orange endpapers. Original Wendell Minor designed dust jacket, unclipped showing £3.95 net at the foot of the front flap. The boards are in fine condition, clean with no shelf wear. All ore edge corners are firm and square noting a tiny bruise to the bottom fore edge corner of the lower board. The spine bears the name of the US publisher in red (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich) and that publisher's device in black above. Internally, the book is in fine condition with no name, inscription or bookplate. The title page appears of different paper stock to that of the rest of the book, bears the publisher's "M" device at the foot of the recto and states "Printed in the USA" on the recto. The original dust jacket is in near fine original condition with no tape or tears, however, the spine is a little faded, has a crease at the head and a hairline rubbed area at the foot. It has the publisher's "M" device at the foot of the spine panel. A lovely copy of the book that inspired the ever highly rated film of the same name. If you would like further information or images, please let us know. Seller Inventory # 000979

About this Item: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York, 1973. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1973. NY. 308 Pages. VG+/VG+. 1st edition, 1st printing. Copyright page states First Edition with BCDE. The original DJ has the $7.95 price clipped from DJ flap. The book is square, tight and unread. Corners are sharp. Panels are bright gray and clean. The only flaw keeping this book from grading fine is foxing to page edges. Some of the spots show on the rear DJ flap edge (barely). The DJ is most attractive. DJ is bright. Only minimal rubbing to edges keeping this DJ from grading near fine. Backstrip shows the tiniest roll at DJ edge that looks like a tiny chip but it is not, rather the paper is just slightly rolled and could be re-flattened if so desired. Faint crease to lower left front of the DJ. Condition flaws are hyper-critical and overstated. A paper conservator could likely neutralize the foxing on the page edges and by ridding these, you would have a fine book in a VG+ DJ. A most desirable copy of the classic. Seller Inventory # 000813
