Envelopes, Cut and Entire, and Beautiful Proof of a $5, 000 Revenue Stamp: Owned by the Late Charles H. Edeson, Manager Stamp Department Scott and Company, and Sold for the Benefit of His Widow at Public Auction, Without Reserve Stamp auctions are too well established to need any recommendation from us. There are but few collectors who have not reaped the ad van tage of this method of purchase, where, independently of buying in com petition with dealers at first price, often at less than cost, they have the public guarantee of a responsible house as to the genuineness of the stamps purchased. The name of scott on the title page is sufficient guarantee. Of the accuracy of the description, and that the sale will be conducted with perfect good faith to all concerned, whether they are present in the room or make their purchases through agents. A uniform charge of fifty cents made on any amount under 85. In reference to the method of selling at auction, we should say that each lot is sold to the highest bidder, at so much for each stamp in the lot; so, if you desire a lot of stamps which contains 10 pieces, and you wish to pay for it, you should bid 10 cents each. Always state your highest price, relying on the honor of those you employ to make the purchase for you at the lowest possible figure. The stamps will be on exhibition at the Auction Rooms, on the day of the sale, from 10 A. M. To 5 P. M. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
