The book is bound in the original paper covered boards with a light-blue cloth spine, titling and a colour illustration on the front and a list of other books in the series on the rear board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling to the boards and wear with a small bit of damage and loss to the paper covering the corner tips. The spine is faded with light bumping to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.

Published in London in 1893, this is a beautifully illustrated edition of some of the best loved fairy tales, bound in a quality recent half leather binding, page edges gilded all-round, internally illustrated with Seventy Two Vibrantly coloured full page plates, the binding is in excellent condition, internally there is foxing present, heavy to a few pages, the worst of it is restricted to the blank reverse of a few of the plates, minor edge tear with no loss to base of one page else in nice general condition.
