Contents 12 mostly single sided pages, i.e. 6 pages of rhymes opposite 6 full pages of colour illustrations, Condition embossed patterned paperback binding, fair, rubbed, front cover stick-on illustration and title missing, has Nelson's Oil Colour Picture Books for the Nursery & T. Nelson & Sons London & Edinburgh, visible front. Spine has material & sewn onto contents, good, but not sure if original. Contents Good, no tears, no inscriptions etc. All full page colour illustrations very good & bright with some ageing/marks to page edges, all full pages of rhymes, fair/good, i.e. mostly good, with some ageing, see scans. The 6 rhymes/ illustrations are, Tig in the cradle, The Pussy Teacher, Caught stealing the cream, The First Dip, The Kit who cried in the cradle & Puss and her kits. Undated, seems to have been a few different editions with different titles & illustrations published in 1864 to 1866, but do not know the full title of this except it was part of Nelson's Oil Colour Picture Books for the Nursery (series) as printed on the front cover. This is a first edition, and later the various illustrations bound together and published in various hardback bindings. So this being a rare first edition. Size: 23.5 x 27cm Approx.
