In-16° (cm. 16,5 x 9,5), pp. XXIII, 444, 8 belle tavv. incise in rame f.t. e rip., legatura coeva in piena pelle nocciola, dorso a cinque nervi, titolo su tassello e fregi in oro, tagli marezzati. Bibl.: Grandjean de Fouchy, Éloge, in Mém. de l'Ac. des sc. hist., 1770; M. Gliozzi, Deux théoriciens de l'électricité, in Archeion, genn. 1934.

Couverture rigide. Condition: Bon. XXXVI-444 pp., 8 pl. depl.

"For many years Nollet fought against his critics. In the Recherches he rejected the criticisms of a number of European scientists. The book also contains new material: electric discharges in vaccum, the influence of electricity on man and animals" (Ekelöf). "The author lays down a theory, according to which the cause of electrical phenomena is the 'effluence and affluence' of a subtile fluid which is everywhere present. Some interesting experiments are described with vacuum tubes als on the influence of electric charges on the growth of plants" (Wheeler). Bel exemplaire. Poggendorff II, 296; Ekelöf 251; Roller/Goodman II, 249; Wheeler 355; DSB X, 147.
