About this Item: National Archives of Malaysia and National Archives of Singapore., Kuala Lumpur., 2005. Profuse colour illustrations throughout, 139 + 5pp, index, bibliography, hardback with dustjacket, leaves a little 'sticky' but an excellent copy. The images in this compilation were featured in the exhibition, 'Reminisences of the Straits Settlements through Postcards', a first-ever collaboration between the National Archives of Malaysia and the National Archives of Singapore. More than 100 postcards take the reader back to life in Penang, Singapore and Malacca in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They document the numerous similarities in the political entity known as the 'Straits Settlements' but better known today as independent Singapore and part of the nation of Malaysia.
