Condition: Good. 1936. Reprinted. 288 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards. Black and white photographs. Black and white portrait frontispiece. Maps across endpapers. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Some mild marks and staining to surfaces.

Rudolf Alfred Bosshardt (1897 - 1993) was an English Protestant Christian missionary in Guizhou, China. He served with the China Inland Mission (CIM). Bosshardt was one of two Europeans who were compelled to accompany the soldiers of the Red Army on the Long March. Small spot on the foredge otherwise internally clean. Scarce.
