About this Item: Penguin Books, New York, NY, 1975. Soft Cover. Condition: Good. Reprint of 1975. Text/Near New. Softcover/Good; VG; shelfworn w/surface soiling & marked lean to spine. Cover Art: Ionicus. 1934, 2nd full-length novel featuring Jeeves and Bertie Wooster from P. G. Wodehouse (1881 - 1975), whose serialized, merry espisodes of the twosome first appeared in 1915; this work is a sequel to "Thank You, Jeeves". Chiefly set at Brinkley Court, home of Bertie's Aunt Dahlia, the story introduces the recurring characters Gussie Fink-Nottle and Madeline Bassett; also present are Bertie's chum Tuppy Glossop, cousin Angela Travers, and Brinkley Court's prized chef, Anatole. A tale of rebellion in which Bertie, annoyed all his friends consider Jeeves more intelligent than he, decides to takes on Gussie's problems himself and orders Jeeves to refrain from offering any advice. Chaos descends, and Bertie is obliged to seek Jeeves for help --- Jeeves arranges for Bertie's absence for a few hours, and all is well. "Jeeves" --- given name Reginald --- is a formal entry in the Oxford Dictionary to describe the quintessential nature of a valet; a valet being one responsible for serving an individual, while butlers are called upon to manage entire households including all other servants. Among multiple literary awards. Wodehouse received the 1936 Mark Twain Prize for "having made an outstanding and lasting contribution to the happiness of the world". Vintage/Novel. About this Item: Herbert Jenkins Limited, London, 1934. Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. 312 pages (complete). First edition of the second Jeeves novel. This was dedicated to Raymond Needham KC. Wodehouse was often sought by tax authorities both in the United Kingdom and the United States. Indeed, he sought unwise tax exile in France later in the thirties. Needham successfully defended him in a tax case brought by the British taxman. This is a comfortable, if somewhat aging copy. The boards are a little dishevelled. They have wear, scuffing, marks. Nonetheless, they are sound and steady. The contents are foxed. The pages are comfortable, contented, mildly aging, engaging, still eager. fk. Seller Inventory # cbwa

I know very little about Canadian bibliography but with similiar population to Australia with the exception that 40% are french speakers I assume that their print runs would have been between 500-1000.
