First Edition Signed
First edition of McCarthyâ s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of a post-apocalyptic world, a work of â stunning, savage beauty,â adapted to the screen in 2009 starring Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. Octavo, original half cloth. Signed by Cormac McCarthy on a laid in bookplate. Signed by jacket designer Chip Kidd three times; on the front panel, the front free endpaper and on the rear panel. Fine in a fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Chip Kidd. In Cormac McCarthyâ s The Road a father and son travel through a post-apocalyptic world in a novel of â stunning, savage beautyâ ¦ written with stripped-down urgency and fueled by the force of a universal nightmare. This is an exquisitely bleak incantationâ "pure poetic brimstoneâ (New York Times). â The Road is a wildly powerful and disturbing bookâ (Time). The Road earned McCarthy the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and became the basis for the 2009 film starring Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.
