She distinguished herself with several at sea rescues, then sank after piling up on rocks at Bald Rock Shoal the last day of 1933. The crew of 29 left the ship in nine dories, and after battling drift ice for three hours, landed at Canso, N.S. Selectmen approved a request from McNiff-Dominick for tax rebate on a piece of land deeded to the town in exchange for graveling rights. Ron Harnish, Phil Chalmers, Don Burbankj and John Hendrickson came before the Board of Selectmen to request a spot at Evans Field for a permanent hockey rink.
