The Macpherson collection of naval & maritime engravings and prints is the finest in the world and forms the foundation of the collection at Greenwich. The author includes not only British warships but also vessels from French and American navies. Ships depicted include : VICTORY, SANS PAREIL, L’INCORRUPTIBLE, CONSTITUTION, NELSON, BRITANNIA, IMPLACABLE (ex-DUGUAY-TROUIN), PIQUE, GORGON, BELLEROPHON, CORNWALLIS, CYCLOPS, TRAFALGAR, COLLINGWOOD, CANOPUS, EURYDICE, PENNSYLVANIA, ST VINCENT, ST LAWRENCE, DUKE OF WELLINGTON, MERRIMAC, WARRIOR, plus many other ships from the old sailing fleets. This is a lavishly-illustrated study of the last sixty years of the wooden walls and their operational existence, drawn from contemporary prints and rare engravings. Seller Inventory # C145B161
