Hardcover. 8vo. Complete two-volume set in slipcase. Brown cloth with green lettering, dust jackets, slipcase with paper label. 65pp, 64pp. Fine/very good. Both volumes pristine, both jackets lightly age toned and faintly edgeworn, slipcase with several expertly, archivally mended seams. Handsome set of this popular anthology (featuring poets both well known and obscure) compiled by the popular Big Band leader (1910-87). Bibliographically confusing, for it seems that all sets (including this one) show 1942 for Volume I and no edition or other printings noted and Volume II notes "First Printing 1947." Since every set we've seen is so marked, we believe this is how the set was issued and that the first volume thus marked is indeed a first.
