About this Item: The Reilly & Britton Company, 1912. Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Much beloved family book--a gift to my mother who was born in 1903--read and re-read and a childhood favorite of mine. This is a sequel to "The Sea Fairies". It includes twelve color plates and numerous black and white illustrations--all by John R. Neill. The endpapers display full color illustrations. "Sky Island" is bound in a red cloth cover with a pasted full front board color illustration of Trot, Cap'n Bill and Button Bright carried aloft by the Magic Umbrella. This copy is in sad shape--better than poor--but not quite fair. The cover is stained and badly worn. The cover illustration has sustained a small chip and three rubbed areas. The hinges are detached and loose with two colored plates, the front endpaper and following flyleaf detached with light fore edge fraying. There is foxing and staining on about 30% of the pages. An inscription on the "This Book Belongs To" page reads: "Mary E. Clarke. Many happy returns of the day. March 6, 1913. Aunt Lucy". Again--this copy has been read and re-read but is ready to claim another reader. Seller Inventory # 260
