First Edition. 1954 pioneering work by American psychiatrist Fredric Wertham, that warned that comic books were a negative form of popular literature and a serious cause of juvenile delinquency. This is the first printing with publisher's circled "R" colophon on the copyright page, first state with the "Bibliograpical Note", which was cut out by the publisher before shipping. Dust jacket is in very good condition with some wear and browning to the edges, soiling to the back of the dust jacket mostly and the spine is sunned.
