Finely bound in contemporary full red morocco, gilt tooled floral decorations in five sections back, top edge gilt, marbled end papers, the binding unsigned. Near Fine, the spine a bit faded, light rubbing. Joseph Joubert, (1754-1824), was a French moralist and essayist best known for his "Pensees" (Thoughts), which were published posthumously.
