Morocco. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. Finely bound in contemporary full red morocco, gilt tooled floral decorations in five sections back, top edge gilt, marbled end papers, the binding unsigned. Near Fine, the spine a bit faded, light rubbing. Joseph Joubert, (1754-1824), was a French moralist and essayist best known for his "Pensees" (Thoughts), which were published posthumously. "The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress.".
