Black boards quarterbound in an orange (or faded red) cloth backstrip with gilt lettering. Lettering is no longer bright but still readable. Light bumping at the tips of the lower corners. Gilt illustration of the city of Lhasa on the front board. Previous owner has trimmed the materials from the inside flaps of the dust jacket and taped them to the book's endpapers. Binding straight and tight and, although there is slight evidence of handling to the outside edges, the pages are all clean and bright inside. Some photographs. Signed by Harrer on the second blank page in blue felt tipped pen with a short inscription in Tibetan. No dust jacket. 314 pages. Emailed photos upon request. Signed by the Author. Beginning toning on the spine cloth ends, some pages with a paperclip impression and offsetting from laid-in newsprint, Fisher's address label on the front pastedown which has been lined out by a succeeding owner with her name in ink below it; dustjacket is lacking the front flap, chips at spine ends, front panel bottom corner, three inch closed tear on the reaf flap fold, tape reinforcement on teh rear panel bottom edge.
