About this Item: The World Publishing, Cleveland and New York, 1959. Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. The previous owner has glued an 8 inch by 10 inch letter to the inner cover and frontpaper. This typed letter is on the personal stationary of Admiral Karl Doenitz with his letterhead at the top - "Donitz - Grossadmiral A. D." "Aumuhle (Holstein), Dora-Specht-Allee 1, Telefon 379, 28. August 1958". "Lieber Admiral Bunkley ! Mr. Keith Thompson sandte mir Ihren Brief mit Ihrem Urteil uber das Nurnberger Gericht. Ich habe mich uber Ihre so aufrechten Worte sehr gefreut und erwidere Ihre Grussen auf das herzlichste. Mit den besten Wunschen fur Sie bin ich - Ihr - Donitz" (Large inked signature). Rough translation - "Dear Admiral Bunkley ! Mr. Keith Thompson sent me your letter with your views of the Nuremberg Trial. I have had a good deal of satisfaction from your opinion and I wish to thank you sincerely for your forthright words and I send you my heartfelt greetings. With my best wishes for you, I am , Yours Donitz". An English translation has been pencilled onto the lower half of the letter. The covers are generally clean with slightly bumped corners. The book's edges are unworn and unbumped. There is a small nick to one side of the spine. Preface and 500 pages. The pages are clean and tightly bound. There is a faint aroma of cigars on the book. The copyright states "First Edition" - after the previous original German edition. With Signed Letter. Seller Inventory # 9639
