Dark blue cloth with a cover decoration in orange of branches from a northern tree, with designers monogram visible at lower right, lettering in gilt. Top page edges gilt. There is a designer's monogram that we don't recognize. Netting showing at rear paste-down gutter. Some wear at head and tail along with mini scuffing to spine. White, (1873 1946) was an American writer and novelist. His brother was noted mural painter Gilbert White. Born in Grand Rapids Michigan, he earned degrees from the University of Michigan. From about 1900 until about 1922 he wrote fiction and non-fiction about adventure and travel, with an emphasis on natural history and outdoor living. Starting in 1922 he and his wife Elizabeth Betty Grant White wrote numerous books, that, according to them, were received through channeling with spirits. They also wrote about their travels around the state of California.
