About this Item: [No Publisher name or location. Undated]. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 8.5 x 6 x 1 inches. 462 pages. Slichot in Hebrew with partial Yiddish translation. The Hebrew and Yiddish is with Nikud (vowelized). The font of the Hebrew is large, making reading easy. The attractive hardcover binding is light blue with gilt lettering. I was probalbly printed in the United States in the mid twentieth century. Printed on good solid paper. The book also includes the morning service prayers, etc. The blank front pastedown has a label of a mid 20th century Brooklyn bookstore, where it was apparently sold. On this front paste down there is also a former owner's name and address, M. Hammer of Queens, New York. Seller Inventory # 005195

About this Item: Furth, Germany, 1756. No Binding. Condition: Very Good. In Hebrew. 30 x 19 cm. (12 x 8 inches) UNBOUND. Ex library with two letters from the library confirming the de-accession. Some damage to title page and last leaf. Some pages have candle wax drops on them, since it was read to the light of a candle. Very large letter size and vowelized (nikud), enabling one to read it in poorly lighted room. Once bound it would be a most impressive volume. Folio. 108 leaves. Vinograd 246. Bottom left corner of title page is damaged with no loss of text and professionally repaired. Title page has a very attractive cooper plate engraving of architectural bordert. Attractive modern three quarter leather binding. Includes prayers prior to going to battle and war, Yom Kippur, circumcision rite, to stop excessive rains (that can cause flooding), droughts , etc. 134 leaves. A few pages have drops of candle wax, caused when the slichot were read at night. One page has a tiny hole, probably caused by the candle flame or wax. Seller Inventory # 005598
