The Battle Lost and Won First edition, First Printing A fine copy with no inscriptions in a fine non-price-clipped (£4.95) dust wrapper with just a trace of fading to the spine. The Sum of Things 1980 First Edition, First Printing A near fine copy with no inscriptions but a small neat ownership stamp (a rhinoceros) on front end paper in a near fine non-price-clipped (£5.95) dust wrapper. (See pictures) All in all a superb set of this classic work of post-war fiction which, together with the earlier Balkan trilogy, was made into a magnificent BBC television series in 1987 called The Fortunes of War starring Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh.
