Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Publishing date probably 1880, since gift inscription is 1881. Binding is a little weak at front hinge, but holding. Pages unmarked and only a little aged. Heavy foxing on frontispiece and tissue protective page, and a little more on endpages. Brown cloth cover with black and gold titles and decoration -- worn at corners and especially spine tips, but titles still clear. No dustjacket at issue.

Tissue intact. Centre hinge cracked. Page edges discoloured. Rubbing on board corners and on backstrip ends. Rubbing is down to boards in some areas. Cloth is frayed at top of back cover.

Pamplet has edgewear, some chipping to outer edges, toning, soiling, & a fold line about three inches from the bottom that affects the entire publication. Interior plate is bright & clean. 8vo. - over 7¾' in - 9¾' in.

Red decorated cloth with black stamped intricate design on front and spine. Frontispiece with tissue guard in place. Gold stamped on front and spine. Pages have red line outlining each page with words inside red line. Excellent condition. Cover slightly worn on corner & upper and lower edge of spine. Twelve steel engravings. There is a tiny bit of wear to the cloth on the head and foot of the spine. Otherwise the gilt is bright, the text block is tight and complete and this volume is in fine to near fine condition.

Original green cloth with decorative stamping to spine and front board; dulling to spine cloth with shallow chipping at frayed ends; rubbing to boards with bumping and slender wear at corners. All edges gilt. Floral patterned endpapers. Frontispiece/half-title "Tennyson Works" recto b/w illustration credited to Gustave Dore with verso b/w portrait of Tennyson by "Ch. Baude"[?] from photograph by Mrs. Cameron; other b/w illustrations inset amongst book's double-column text. Laid-in old newspaper clipping causing toning to pages 94-95; slight toning to interior leaves with foxing strongest on initial and rear leaves with lighter occurrences inward. Binding is firm. Still an attractive antiquarian copy.

Small book is tight, square, relatively sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings - spine covering is slightly loose. 540 pp.

Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Two volumes in royal blue cloth with gilt on spine and elaborately embossed front and back boards. Gilt on all edges, with chocolate endpapers and tissue covered frontis portrait in Volume I. Pencil name on ffep in both volumes with pencil inscription on second fep. Both books are tightly bound and square with nice bright pages. Corners worn on both volumes and slightly bumped on Volume I. Spine tips also worn with blue outer cloth slightly frayed with short surface tears ( about 1/2" ) at top spine folds on Volume I. Vol. I, pp. vii, 350; Vol. II, pp. 334, followed by one page ad. Poetry, Antiquarian.

Condition: very good. Canterbury Edition of the Poets. The large selection with the table of contents showing Poems and Idyls DB4. Cream Boards, picture of a lady pasted on front edge, 730 pages, no date, pages toned, 7.50" x 5".

Author's name within a gold box on the front and on the spine. Gold flowers on the spine. Each page has a red line border. Some finger print marks on the pages. Gold tint to the tips of the pages. 888 pages. No dust jacket. Many illustrations. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Poetry, Classics.

Full Leather. Condition: Good. Published before the ennobling of the great Victorian poet whose engraved portrait is frontis to Volume 1, tissue-guarded and heavily foxed. 2 PO signatures and a personalised bookplate in each book. Text clean. All page edges gilt. Leather worn but red title plates to spines clearly legible. Vol 1: 350pp; Vol 2: 398pp.

Condition: acceptable. Publication year unclear but appears to be circa 1900. 730 pages. Cover same but brown instead of reddish-orange. Shelf, storage or usage wear present that does not affect the readability of the book. Name written on the front flyleaf page. The pages appear unmarked. Staining on the cover. Front hinge is partially separated. The binding is intact and all pages are present. Pictures available upon request. Individually inspected by Scott.
