About this Item: Wiesbaden, Limes Verlag, 1961. Condition: Gut. Deutsche Erstausgabe.. 171 Seiten. Schutzumschlag hinten eingerissen. Guter Zustand. - Truman Capote ['tru?m?n k?'po?ti] (* 30. September 1924 in New Orleans; † 25. August 1984 in Los Angeles, geboren als Truman Streckfus Persons) war ein US-amerikanischer Schriftsteller, Schauspieler und Drehbuchautor. Leben: . . About this Item: Random House, 1956. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A very nice copy of the great Truman Capote's The Muses are Heard. The author accompanied a US theater ensemble that was performing Porgy and Bess in Russia. This was a momentous occasion as it was the first American production to appear in the Soviet Union. Capote chronicled the event, in his inimitable style, during an eight day train trip from Berlin to Leningrad. Book is in Near-Fine condition. Spine is straight, no bumps to corners and no dog ears or tears. Light separation of text block from cloth at the head of the spine and extremely faint residue from erased price at the top of the FEP. Only visible under very close examination. First Edition, First Printing with statement of First Printing on the copyright page. DJ is mylar-covered and in VG condition. Rubbing and light chipping at head and heel of spine as well as rubbing along the top and bottom of front cover. Light chipping to three of four corners. $3.00 price is present. This is a highly collectible copy of one of the author's earlier works. Seller Inventory # 823
