Large octavo. 184pp. Black cloth with gilt title, etc. to spine, printed endpapers, illustrated in black and white by Gavin Stamp and Robert Turner. A recasting as fact of the famed text of the Cthulhu mythos, as originally imagined by H. P. Lovecraft. With contributory material by Dr. Stanislaus Hinterstoisser, L. Sprage De Camp, Christopher Frayling, Angela Carter. This is the (unstated) second issue of the first edition, with the flaw to the captioning of the illustration on p. 152 corrected. Boards a bit rubbed and lightly marked, spine ends and corners lightly bruised and chafed, page edges unevenly darkened and thumbed, bookplate opposite half title page, else a tight, unmarked VG copy in Good + dust jacket (Dust jacket panels rubbed & creased, chafed and creased at all edges, a few small chips and tears, price clipped, now protected by mylar sleeve).
