A brand new facsimile (reproduction) dust jacket is included for protection and display. The book is in good condition. Spots of sunning and discoloration to the boards and spine. The silver lettering on the spine is clear and vibrant. Stain and pencil erasure to front endpaper. Book emits the scent of moth balls.The textblock is gently toned but clean, bright, unmarked, and complete. The binding is sound. "The Old Man and the Sea" was the final novel written and published during Hemingway's lifetime. Written in 1951, it was first published in Life magazine in the fall of 1952. The first edition was published in 1952, with a print run of 50,000 copies. "The Old Man and the Sea" is the story of an aging fisherman who sets off to end his unlucky fishing streak. Slightest toning along edge. Corners show a couple of tiny fray hairs. Internally, clean and nice. FFEP has the words or name Irving Yacht and the date of 1956. Book of the Month Club DJ has been married to this non-BOMC printing. DJ is bright. No printed price on DJ flap. Famous DJ illustration is attractive and rear has a picture of Ernie in a blue hue.
