Cloth binding, 19 cm, 253 pp. Account of the occupation of the Netherlands by the Germans in 1940 bu the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. With a foldable map. Cond.: goed / good.
S.L., nd. [London, c. 1940]. 2°. stapled into limp blind wrappers. 84pp. of typo-script (Carbon-copy) on thin paper. An interesting report by the then dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. E.N. van Kleffens, on the so-called "Rape of the Netherlands", i.e. the brutal military attack of Nazi-Germany on the Netherlands, 10 May 1940, the [diplomatic] events preceding this attack and the events during the 5-day struggle against Germany by the almost defenseless dutch military forces, incl. notes on the ruthless bombing of Rotterdam Municipality, that destroyed a great part of the city and forced dutch surrender on 15 May 1940. A rare account. (binder somewh. soiled with some wear to extremities, staples rusty with some marking on first page).
