About this Item: De La More, London, 1925. Hardcover. Condition: Very good + condition. Fine signed binding by Sotheran, with 12 full page Art Nouveau illustrations and elaborate borders by Blanche MacManus (1869-1935), an American writer and artist. Bound in three quarter green calf and matching cloth covers, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Small 8vo (5" x 7.25"), 39pp. Beautifully bound in all green, with the spine lightly sunned; internally, bright and clean internally. Not recorded in Potter. Seller Inventory # 22321

Dust Jacket Condition: No DJ. #1078/2500. 107pp. Colophon states "Done into types and printed for John Lane by Will Bradley at the Wayside Press, Springfield, Massachusetts, in November, (1897)" Bookseller label on front pastedown reads "From the Library of Ed Grabhorn at the Grabhorn Press. See Bambace A26 for description of this book in pristine condition which is not the case with this well loved but in poor condition exemplar. The author's ink signature appears on reverse of ffep with note "This edition consists of 1250 copies of which this is number 1078" A prior owner (Grabhorn?) has tipped on a B/W photo of Le Gallienne to the half title as well as multiple newspaper reviews throughout the text (all well browned now) Text block leaves are uncut and the block is tight but loose in its binding which is soiled and wornSpine has been well chewed - to the signatures at the head and foot and the front board is loose and held in place by the front endpaper. Overall the text block is Fair (forgiving the news articles) and poor in all other respects. A candidate for restoration. Size: 8vo. Author Signed on Reverse of Ffep. Association Copy. About this Item: The Roycrofters, East Aurora, 1904. Full Suede. Condition: Very Good. First Edition Thus. 8vo - over 7ž" - 9ž" (oblong). Laid in loose is an Autograph Note Signed (ANS) by Elbert Hubbard, four lines plus on postcard-sized yellow letterhead ("The Roycroft Shop") printed in red. It is addressed to a client ("Mr. Gray") who seems to have been a subscriber for the deluxe editions of the press. Attractively bound Roycroft "Rubaiyat" in full green suede stamped in gilt and black, top edge gilt (two leaves have offset from clippings; some wear to silk endpapers (rear being loose; stain to front silk); minor wear to suede).
