Advertisements at front and rear (including on endpapers). Monochrome frontispiece and 12 additional plates; illustrations in the text. Boards lightly rubbed with heavier wear on edges; a few inconspicuous spots and stains; ends of spine crushed and starting to fray; corners bumped; spine discoloured. Endpapers foxed and toned; bookseller's pencil annotations to front free endpaper. Pages clean. Binding generally firm but gutter starting to crack in one place.
