The DJ is NOT price clipped but has some wear to corners and chipping to spine ends. The chips at the top of the spine have been home reparied with sticky tap. Book has a corresponding patches of fading to spine ends. Book very slightly canted. Small stain to for edge of a couple of preliminary pages. Hazzard is an elegant and measured writer garnering more followers with each passing year, and both editions of her 'break-through' novel "The Transit of Venus" (US by Viking and UK by Macmillan) are now becoming uncommon. It won the National Book Critics Circle Award in the US in 1980.

Jacket has a few small closed tears, repaired at verso with archival tape. Abrading top front jacket panel near spine at site of tear. Foxing on inside jacket flaps. Jacket now protected with removable mylar sheath, and presents very well.
