An interesting local history about the Lemon Tree Passage Bush Fire Brigade in the old days, when there were no rules or regulations, bureaucrats were treated with a degree fo contempt and suspicion - even neighbouring brigades were seen as competitors, territories were defended, individuality, initiative and lack of protocol were treasured virtues, and in many areas the fire station was the social and cultural hub of the community.
