WHO GOES THERE?, Shasta Publishers, 1948, first edition, faint tape shadows to a section of the upper and lower margins of the front and rear paste-downs, light age soiling to the t.p.e.'s, faint scattered foxing to the fore edge, some faint spotting to the top half of the front cover, else a tight vg or better copy in vg+ Hannes Bok BEM (Bug Eyed Monster) color pictorial dust-wrapper save for some slight wear to the flap fold extremities and a tiny chip to the base of the dust-wrapper spine. Still a handsome copy, this one INSCRIBED by the publisher to your cataloger thusly: "For David, Referee in the Farmer fracus!, Mel Korshak." (This remark refers to the less than cordial relationship that existed between Mel Korshak and Philip Farmer. Every time I saw Mel, which was/is once or twice a year, I would mention some fiction I made up about Phil to Mel. It was often outrageous and Mel knew it was a fabrication every time------but we pretended it wasn't). One of the great classic short story collections of the period. The source book for the twice made film THE THING. A unique (meaning the old definition: one of a kind) copy. Seller Inventory # 01984
