These include Fordham teammate Leo Paquin; Red Blaik, coach of Army whenLombardi was his tempestouous assistant; Frank Gifford and Kyle Rote who recall how the New York Giants offense flourished under him; Paul Hornung, Bart Starr and Willie Davis who starred under him in the glory days of the Green Bay Packers; Sam Huff, who explains why he came out of retirement to play for Lombardi in Washington; and many others. Jerry Kramer, who compiled this book, played for the Packers for 10 years, notable as the interior lineman who threw the block that allowes Starr to quarterback sneak in the winning touchdown in the famous "Ice Bowl" NFL Championship game against Dallas in 1967. He also authored the keystone football book "Instant Replay".
