Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A fascinating 'diary' (actually re-written from notes made at the time, augmented with later material) by Charles McMoran Wilson (created 1st Baron Moran in 1943), who was Churchill's personal physician from 1940, throughout the war years and during his second term in office as Prime Minister 1951-55. Caused huge controversy on its first publication in 1966, the year after Churchill's death, mainly from his family who felt that Lord Moran had abused the patient-doctor confidentiality relationship and from the medical profession, which saw the publication as a violation of the Hippocratic oath. This is a 1st paperback edition copy of 1968, good condition of text (864 pp) with age-related tanning of page edges. Cover is a little grubby with remains of old price sticker on front and small creases along top edge. Spine rolled.
