From a limited edition of 1050, of which 1000 are for sale and 50 are for presentation by first lady Edith Kermit Roosevelt. This set is number 96 of 1050, signed by Edith Kermit Roosevelt on the limitation page. Theodore Roosevelt served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a prolific author, writing more than 18 books during his lifetime, beginning with "The Naval War of 1812" in 1882. His other notable works include The Winning of the West, African Game Trails, and The Rough Riders. One of 1,050 signed and numbered copies, of which 1,000 were for sale and 50 were for presentation. Bound in the publisher's original cloth covered boards, spines stamped in gilt. Top edges gilt. Lightly rubbed extremities and uniformly sunned spines. Head of volume one has some light fraying and a very small tear (less than one centimeter), lesser wear and fraying to heads of other volumes. Front hinge of volume one and volume nine have started but are holding. Small chip on the spine, near the front hinge of volume 21. Frontis in each of the 24 volumes. This is the most complete collection of Roosevelt's books, essays and writings. Supersedes the collected works published during his own lifetime. Introductory essays and memorials throughout the set.
