[2] ff., 312 pp. (lacking pp. v?xiv); 1 double-spread plate. Half calf over marbled paper, much rubbed with loss of leather over corners and at head and foot of spine; joints open, but sewing holding. Occasional light foxing and brownspotting. Lacking pp. v?xiv. Manuscript notes on a sheet pasted in at rear; a few instances of inked marginalia. The volume II of the 1807 edition cited by some is apparently a ghost.
