Pages are generally clean. Marshall Hall (1790-1857) - English physician and leading advocate of physical experimentation. Hall was most famous for his paper on The Reflex function of the medulla oblongata and medulla spinalis (published for the Royal Society in 1833) which "established the difference between volitional action and unconscious reflexes." [See Garrison, Hist. of Medicine, p.412]. Hall published several books concerning his research. According to Heirs of Hippocrates "He firmly established the concept of the reflex arc as a fundamental of neurophysiology and in this work applies it to the diseases of the nervous system."
