AbeBooks Fee Schedule

This Fee Schedule provides information about the Selling Plans and associated Selling Fees when selling on Our Web Sites.

Payments to You are detailed in section 5.1 What is paid to You of the Seller Agreement.

The currency in which You pay Your Selling Fees is determined by Your Vendor Billing Currency. Your Vendor Billing Currency (GBP or EUR) is set at account creation based on Your bank account information and cannot be changed.

This Fee Schedule is in two parts:

1. Selling Fees in Great British Pound (GBP £)
2. Selling Fees in Euros (EUR €)

Total Item Amount: The full amount of the Item sold, including the Item price, shipping charges, and any extra charges, net of any specified Taxes.

Total Order Amount: The sum of all Total Item Amounts in the order.

Vendor Billing Currency: The currency in which Seller fees and statements are calculated and displayed. Your Vendor Billing Currency (USD, GBP, or EUR) is set at account creation based on Your bank account information and cannot be changed.

Seller Direct Orders: Additional payment methods that You may accept directly from Customers. You may request to offer additional accepted payment methods by contacting us. We reserve the right, in Our sole discretion, to determine eligibility. If We approve You to accept Seller Direct Orders, You are solely responsible for collecting full payment including any Specified Taxes or other Taxes and timely remitting such taxes to applicable authorities.

All Selling Fees in this section are expressed in Great British Pounds / Pounds Sterling, and are net excluding VAT.

1.1 Selling Plans

1.1.1. Basic Plan

The applicable Basic Plan Selling Fees are:

• Commission Fee
  
  • The Commission Fee is calculated using the Total Item Amount.
  • The Commission Fee is refundable if the Total Item Amount is fully refunded to the Customer.
  • For transactions processed by our External Payment Service Provider, the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 15% on the first GBP £385.00 of the Total Item Amount.
    • 10% on the remaining Total Item Amount above GBP £385.00.
  • For Seller Direct Orders the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 12% on the first GBP £385.00 of the Total Item Amount.
    • 6% on the remaining Total Item Amount above GBP £385.00.
• Per-Item Fee
  
  • The Per-Item Fee is GBP £0.75 per Item sold.
  • The Per-Item Fee is refundable if the Item is fully refunded to the Customer.

Listing Limit
You may have up to 150,000 Listings on the Basic Plan.

Monthly Subscription & Processing Fee
We do not charge a Monthly Subscription or a Processing Fee in the Basic Plan.

1.1.2. Premium Plan
The applicable Premium Plan Selling Fees are:

• Monthly Subscription
  
  • The Monthly Subscription is calculated based on Your average number of Listings from the previous month.
  • The Monthly Subscription is debited from Your Seller account on the first day of every month. This fee is offset against the sales on the first Friday of every month. If the Monthly Subscription due exceed sales on the first Friday of the month, You will be charged the balance.
  • For new Sellers, the minimum Monthly Subscription applies as soon as Your account is activated and is pro-rated based on the number of days remaining in Your first month.
  • If You set your account to Vacation Status, the Monthly Subscription still applies. For each day that Your account is in Vacation Status, Your number of Listings is considered to be zero.
  • Based on Your average number of Listings from the previous month, You will pay:

• Commission Fee
  
  • The Commission Fee is calculated using the Total Item Amount.
  • The Commission Fee is refundable if the Total Item Amount is fully refunded to the Customer.
  • For all Items the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 8% of the Total Item Amount, subject to the following minimum and maximum amounts:
      
      • Minimum Commission Fee is GBP £0.30 per item.
      • Maximum Commission Fee is GBP £22.00 per item.
• Processing Fee
  
  • The Processing Fee applies when Customers pay through our Web Sites using the External Payment Service Provider. The Processing Fee does not apply to Seller Direct Orders.
  • The Processing Fee is credited to You if the Total Order Amount is fully refunded to the Customer.
  • The Processing Fee is calculated using the Total Order Amount.
    
    • If the shipping amount is reduced at the time of order processing, the Processing Fee will be calculated on the reduced amount.
    • If extra charges are requested by the Seller and accepted by the Customer, they will be included in the Total Order Amount.
  • The Processing Fee varies depending on an order’s Web Site of purchase:
    
    • AbeBooks.com:
      
      • 5.5% on the first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency, of the Total Order Amount.
      • 3.5% on the remaining Total Order Amount above US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is GBP £0.30.
    • AbeBooks.co.uk:
      
      • 5.5% on the first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency, of the Total Order Amount.
      • 3.5% on the remaining Total Order Amount above first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or [DS8] [DGE9] the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is GBP £0.60.
    • All other Web Sites (AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.de, ZVAB.com, AbeBooks.it, Iberlibro.com):
      
      • 3.5% on the Total Order Amount.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is GBP £0.60.
• Per-Item Fee

There is no Per-Item Fee in the Premium Plan.

1.2. Selecting and Updating Your Selling Plan

You may select your Selling Plan during the registration process. Your plan applies immediately upon account activation. All Seller accounts existing as of 22 July 2025 have been automatically enrolled in the Premium Plan (formerly referred to as Our subscription fee model).

You can update Your Selling Plan at any time after activation within your account. When you switch Your Selling Plan, it will apply on the first day of the following month. You can switch your plan back any time before 23:59 PT on the last day of the month in which you changed your plan without incurring Selling Fees on the new plan.

Your account can only be on one Selling Plan at a time. If You have multiple vendor accounts, you may select a separate Selling Plan for each account.
 
1.3. Statements

We will make available account statements, showing Your applicable Selling Fees and Taxes, as well as details of any offset amounts. An invoice statement showing applicable Selling Fees will be sent to You by e-mail at the beginning of each month. Invoices are payable upon receipt.

You may pay the invoices by credit card, bank transfer or by check. Payments by credit card will be processed more promptly than bank transfers or checks.

You agree to accept invoices from AbeBooks electronically in a format and method of delivery as determined by us, e.g. in pdf format.

All Selling Fees in this section are expressed in Euros, and are net excluding VAT.

The applicable Basic Selling Fees are:

• Commission Fee
  
  • The Commission Fee is calculated using the Total Item Amount.
  • The Commission Fee is refundable if the Total Item Amount is fully refunded to the Customer.
  • For transactions processed by our External Payment Service Provider, the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 15% on the first EUR €460.00 of the Total Item Amount.
    • 10% on the remaining Total Item Amount above EUR €460.00.
  • For Seller Direct Orders the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 12% on the first EUR €460.00 of the Total Item Amount.
    • 6% on the remaining Total Item Amount above EUR €460.00.
• Per-Item Fee
  
  • The Per-Item Fee is EUR €0.90 per item sold.
  • The Per-Item Fee is refundable if the Item is fully refunded to the Customer.

Listing Limit

  • For all Items the applicable Commission Fee rate is:
    
    • 8% of the Total Item Amount, subject to the following minimum and maximum amounts:
    • Minimum Commission Fee is EUR €0.40 per item.
    • Maximum Commission Fee is EUR €32.00 per item.
• Processing Fee
  
  • The Processing Fee applies when Customers pay through our Web Sites using the External Payment Service Provider. The Processing Fee does not apply to Seller Direct Orders.
  • The Processing Fee is credited to You if the Total Order Amount is fully refunded to the Customer.
  • The Processing Fee is calculated using the Total Order Amount.
    
    • If the shipping amount is reduced at the time of order processing, the Processing Fee will be calculated on the reduced amount.
    • If extra charges are requested and accepted by the Customer, they will be included in the Total Order Amount.
  • The Processing Fee varies depending on an order’s Web Site of purchase:
    
    • AbeBooks.com:
      
      • 5.5% on the first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency, of the Total Order Amount.
      • 3.5% on the remaining Total Order Amount above first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is EUR €0.40.
    • AbeBooks.co.uk:
      
      • 5.5% on the first US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency, of the Total Order Amount.
      • 3.5% on the remaining Total Order Amount above US $500.00/GBP £275.00/EUR €400.00, or the equivalent amount in the Customer’s currency.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is EUR €0.80.
    • All other Web Sites (AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.de, ZVAB.com, AbeBooks.it, Iberlibro.com):
      
      • 3.5% on the Total Order Amount.
      • Minimum Processing Fee is EUR €0.80.
• Per-Item Fee

There is no Per-Item Fee in the Premium Plan.

2.2. Selecting and Updating Your Selling Plan
