Signed in type: "Franklin Buchanan, Commander U. S. Navy. S. F. DuPont . . . George A. Macgruder . . ." The appendix (pp. 11?15) consists of letters and orders relating to Texas Navy Captain Edwin W. Moore's acts of disobedience. Includes President Sam Houston's "Proclamation" suspending Moore from his command and calling on all "officers on the high sea or in ports foreign to this country, to seize the said Post Captain E. W. Moore, the ship Austin and brig Wharton, with their crews, and bring them or any of them into the port of Galveston, that the vessels may be secured to the Republic and the culprit or culprits arraigned and punished by the sentence of a legal tribunal."
