Hardcover in red cloth lettered and with facsimile Hemingway signature in black. 262 pp. Copyright page still carries the 1937 date but this edition is circa 1947, referencing list of Erskine Caldwell titles on jacket rear panel. A tight, fine example in the original dust jacket (which retains the same design as the Scribners first) with shallow wear haed of spine and a bit of rubbing at the tips. hemingway's brilliant novel in which fishing boat captain Henry Morgan runs contraband between Cuba and Key West; basis of the 1944 movie starring Humphrey Bogart and, in her film debut (and debut to Bogie), Lauren Bacall.
